Congratulations on your Printworks purchase with free Blue Spruce seeds.
To get started:
1) Soak the green seed embedded paper overnight in room temperature water.
2) Fill a pot with 4 inches of soil.
| • |
A pot with drainage holes is recommended.
|
| • |
Regular soil can be used, but nutrient enriched potting soil is recommended.
|
3) Plant the seed embedded paper in the pot under 1/8” of loose soil.
4) Place the pot indoors in a lighted area, but not under direct sunlight.
5) Keep the soil moist. Seed embedded paper cannot dry out but over watering will drown your seeds.
| • |
When watering, your soil may shift and expose the paper. Gently move the soil so that your paper remains covered.
|
6) Seedlings will start to grow in 4-6 weeks.
7) Once seedlings start to grow you can move them into an area with more light, but not direct sunlight. Using fluorescent lighting is acceptable.
Long Term Care of Seedlings
1) If you have more than one seedling growing in the same pot they must be separated into different pots. This cannot be done until the seedlings are strong enough to be moved and at least 2-3 inches tall.
2) Seedlings will not be ready to be planted outside until they are 10-12 inches high. Estimated time is 12 months from initial growth stage.
Important note: Due to the nature of the seeds and the packaging process some seeds may have separated from the paper. If you do not see or feel any seeds in your seed embedded paper please send us an email through the contact us section of the site for replacement seeds.
