Buying Printworks Products

Q: Where can I buy Printworks paper?
A: Please refer to our the product pages for information on where to buy our products. This section will give you updated retail and on-line locations for each of our different products. Please be aware that some of the products listed may not be available in every store in the chain.

Q: Can I buy products on-line directly from Printworks website?
A: No. We (Paris Business Products) are a retail distributor and have agreements with our retailers that we will not sell direct to the end user. Please check our "Where to Buy" section in the product pages for on-line locations that sell Printworks products.

Q: I cannot find a product on your website. Do you still sell it?
A: No. If a product is not listed on our products pages, we no longer produce it.

Paper

Q: Does Printworks have any papers that are larger than 8.5" X 11"?
A: Currently, we only offer 8.5" X 11" and 4"X6" size papers.

Q: Can I buy Printworks paper in bulk quantities?
A: Currently, we only offer the retail size packs of our paper.

Q: My prints don’t look good. How do make better quality prints?
A: Each printer lays down ink in different ways and each paper accepts it differently. Therefore, it is important that you use the correct printer settings, also known as printing preferences or properties. Refer to the instruction sheet that came with your paper for the proper settings. If you are using the correct printer settings and still do not like your prints, click here to request assistance.

T-shirt Transfers

Q: Can I use the White T-shirt Transfers on dark fabric?
A: No. Printworks White T-shirt Transfers cannot be used on dark fabric. The transfer sheet is transparent; so all colors will be distorted if ironed onto a dark color. We suggest you use the Dark T-shirt Transfers for application onto any color fabric.

Q: Can I use the Dark T-shirt Transfers on white fabric?
A: Yes. The Dark T-shirt Transfers are a transfer sheet that has a white background and can be used on both white and dark/colored fabric.

Q: My T-shirt Transfer would not stick the shirt or cracked after drying. What can I do to prevent this?
A: The key to a good transfer is using the proper printer settings, temperature settings and pressure. The list below contains tips and the most common mistakes when using T-Shirt Transfers.

  1. Make sure to use the correct printer settings.
  2. Make sure iron is set on MAXIMUM COTTON temperature settings. Do not use steam.
  3. Iron on a HARD, HEAT-RESISTANT SURFACE. Do not iron on a padded surface ironing board, towel or rough surface. You may use a thin flat pillowcase between surface and T-shirt if needed.
  4. Use both hands on the iron to provide UNIFORM, FIRM PRESSURE.
  5. Iron for the correct amount of time based on the size of the transfer.
  6. Make sure to select proper media setting (t-shirt transfer, photo quality inkjet paper, or 360dpi) from print menu; check your printer manual for additional printing instructions.
  7. When printing dark/black images with Epson printers, use 390dpi print mode, and wait at least 24 hours before washing garment.
  8. Not recommended for HP DeskJet 1200C or 1600C models, as they apply heat.

If you follow these instructions, you should get a quality transfer. If you still experience problems, click here to request assistance.

Software and Templates

Q: Can I use the Scrapbook/Calendar Software with Windows® Vista?
A: No. Printworks Scrapbook Calendar Creator was designed to work with Microsoft Windows 98/2000/ME/XP/NT. Having Vista does not mean that you cannot use the pre-punched paper and binding. A calendar or scrapbook can be created using software downloaded from the Internet, purchased from your local retailer or one of the standard programs that you likely already have on your compurter such as Word and Power Point.

Q: What do I do if I cannot download the software?
A: Please fill out the form in the contact us section and include the software that you are trying to download and the Operating System (OS), such as Mac OSX, that you are using. A Printworks Customer Service Representative will be happy to assist you.

Q: Where can I find templates for my Printworks Products?
A: Templates are located in the template section of myprintworks.com. You can also click here to find the templates for our products.
